Over the past few days I have been getting into designing themes for Wordpress. So far I have completed 4 themes so far which can be found here.

All themes are free to download and I will be adding more in due course.

Up until now i’ve always thought liquorice was the worst sweet i’ve ever tasted. Now there’s another sweet that’s taken it’s place.

Carly bought some of these Toxic Waste sweets this afternoon with her pocket money and said to me “Mum, you’ve got to try these. They’re gorgeous!“  So I tried one and by heck they tast so gross! After a short time of screwing my face up, trying to endure the excessive sourness of it I eventually spat it out into the bin.

How any child can actually eat these and actually like them is beyond me!

Yesterday evening Andy and I went for a drive out (without the kids - a friend was kind enough to look after them for us). We had no plans in mind on where to go but we ended up going to Scarborough. While we were there we looked round a few shops on the sea front and went in the amusement arcades. It was a fun time playing on the slots but very pricey also. the highest amount I won on the slots was £6.00, not much but better than nothing. Needless to say all our winnings ended up back in the slots!

While we were there I took a few scenery pics of Scarborough. Well, I thought it was the ideal opportunity to test out my new camera which I got the day before!

Yesterday Bradley went to his friend Steed’s 5th birthday Party. The party was held at Winkies which is an indoor play centre for children. They also had some animals there and the children got a chance to see the animals and even hold some of them.

We were given some photos of Bradley and the other children with the animals, which you can see below.

I purchased this game last Tuesday and after spending a considerable amount of time playing it I finally completed it on Friday evening. Since then I have played and completed it for a second time. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is, in my opinion, total awesomeness and it’s one of those games I could play again and again. 

No, i’m not quitting this blog, Andy and I are quitting smoking!

As I mentioned in an earlier post, Andy and I were to attempt to quit smoking again and we’ve both been taking Champix as an aid to quitting smoking. We were allowed to smoke for the first week of taking Champix and our quit date was supposed to be on the 28th April, but as we both forgot to take the Champix tablets one day last week we rescheduled our quit date for the 29th instead.

I have added a quit meter to the header of my blog. This shows how long it has been since I quit, how much money I have saved, etc.

At this moment in time. I won’t say I don’t want a cigarette because in my mind I do, the craving is there and will probably be around for weeks to come, but I am determined I am going to successfully quit and stay smoke free this time. Andy feels the same, or so he says. We both really need to quit for the sake of our health and the health of our children.

Ever since my kids first saw this ad on TV they have been saying that it resembles myself and Andy. The reason being that I like playing online bingo and Andy likes anything to do with cars.

This afternoon Leanne and Carly went to Stump Cross Caverns with their Grandparents. Since they came back Carly has been telling me how awesome it was.

In Carly’s words, here’s what they did there.

“We went down a lot of crooked stairs to get into the caves. We looked at stones that looked like little cakes and stuff and we got to feel the rocks that felt like dry water. We went to this part of the cave where we had to bend right down to get through. After we had been through the cave we went up some stairs to watch a movie about how the cave was found. Then we had to answer a question about there the stone that looked like a hawk was and whoever answered the question right got a prize. I won the prize for answering the question correctly. The prize I got was an eraser and a stencil.”

While they were out, their Grandparents also bought Sam a bag of Haribo Sweets and Bradley some bubble mixture and a bubble blower.

This afternoon after school, Sam phoned his friend to ask if he was playing out but the was a beeping sound at the other end of the line.

“What does that sound mean?” Sam asked.

“It means it’s engaged” I said.

Sam then asked “Does that mean it’s getting married?”

I couldn’t help but laugh when I explained to him what it meant!
